Coffee, Creativity and Community

Some projects just tick every box.

Art? Tick.

Coffee? Tick.

Spending the day creating something alongside a wonderful group of people? Big tick.

To help celebrate 125 years of the Nestlé factory in Tutbury, we were invited along to run a community art workshop with a group of local pensioners. Armed with a giant coffee jar artwork, we set about creating something that celebrated the factory and its history.

Nestlé supplied what can only be described as a mountain of coffee beans, both roasted and unroasted, giving us a beautiful range of natural colours to work with. One by one, the beans were carefully placed to build a rich, textured mosaic that celebrates one of the factory's most iconic products.

By the end of the session, the artwork was already looking fantastic. The staff at the factory are now continuing to fill the remaining background between shifts.

Once that's complete, the piece will make its way back to the Making Trails studio, where we'll add the finishing touches. A little pyrography, a crystal clear resin pour and a final polish will transform it into a permanent artwork the factory can proudly display.

We can't wait to share the finished piece with you.

And yes... it smells absolutely incredible.
